Small improvements can make a big difference!
Hanging with purpose
Most of us have a bunch of pictures, photos and kids drawings either stuffed in cupboards or hanging around in mismatched frames. I love the idea of making a feature of all of these pieces in matching frames hung in a structured pattern. The Warehouse always have simple frames at really good prices. Hanging with purpose, like in this picture, adds warmth and a wow factor to any room or hallway. Great rainy day project!
Too many books?
Book cases can close a space in, particularly when they are all crooked, dusty and spilling off the shelves. I love this answer to the book issue, simple wall mounted shelves stretching up to the ceiling. Suddenly the room looks cosy and inviting rather than messy and cluttered.
Inspiration
As a person intensely interested in all things property I am constantly searching for new inspiration, thoughts and trends. Whilst magazines are still my favourite source of information (they work in really well with a cup of tea), both Pinterest and Houzz are cost effective and extensive sources of property related information.
Outdoor Living
We're spending more time outdoors now with the Wellington weather in a satisfyingly settled period. We did a lot of grunt work in our courtyard over the Christmas break to create a lovely, sheltered and sunny spot to sit and enjoy a craft beer. Today I picked up a sweet lantern to hang on our peach tree, can't wait to light it tonight and enjoy the glow.
Spring Flowers
I think most Wellingtonians would agree that it has been a bit of a dreary winter - so I couldn't resist picking up this gorgeous posy of freesias when I spotted them at the supermarket yesterday. Freesias would have to be one of my all time favourite flowers, with a wonderful scent that just makes me feel happy!
